Questions

Straight answers.

The questions people ask before they book, answered the way we'd answer them on the phone.

Before you book

How much does a man with a van cost in Cork?

It depends on how much is moving, how far, and the stairs and parking at each end. Our price ranges and hourly rate are on the prices page, and we give a fixed price for most jobs once we know what's going.

Who do I deal with?

WeHaul, from your first message to the end of the job. You get one price, agreed before the day, and one contact if anything changes.

Which areas do you cover?

All six Munster counties: Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford and Clare. Most of our work is in and around Cork. Longer runs are priced for the travel, and we'll tell you up front.

Do you take rubbish away?

No. We don't do rubbish removal or waste collection. For that you need a permitted waste collector, so check they hold a waste collection permit before you book anyone.

How much notice do you need?

For single items and collections, short notice is often fine. For flat and house moves, a week or two is better, and more around the end of the month and in September.

House & Flat Moves

About house & flat moves
Can a man with a van move a 2-bed flat?

Often, yes. A 2-bed flat with packed boxes and normal furniture is usually one or two van loads. It depends on how much you have and on stairs and access, so send us a list or a few photos and we'll tell you honestly before you book.

Do I need to pack everything myself?

Yes, boxes need to be packed and taped before we arrive. We'll look after the furniture: wrapping it, taking beds apart and loading it properly.

What if I have a lot of stairs?

That's fine, but tell us when you ask for a quote. Stairs and long carries take longer, and we'd rather price it right than surprise you on the day.

Student Moves

About student moves
Can you move a few students on the same run?

Yes, if they're going the same way. Friends moving into the same house, or into blocks near each other, can share a run and split the cost.

Do I need to be there?

Someone needs to be at each end to let us in and show us where things go. It doesn't have to be the student: a parent or housemate is fine.

Can you collect from student accommodation at the end of the year?

Yes. Check the move-out time with your accommodation and book a slot around it, because everyone in the block will be leaving the same week.

Single-Item Delivery

About single-item delivery
Can you deliver a washing machine or fridge?

Yes. Fridges should travel upright where possible and be left to stand before switching on. We don't plumb in or connect appliances, so arrange that separately.

Will you carry it upstairs?

Yes, as long as it fits. Measure the stairs and doorways for big sofas and wardrobes, because it's the turn at the top of the stairs that catches most people out.

Can you collect from a shop or warehouse?

Yes. Have the order number ready and check the collection hours, then send us the details.

DoneDeal & Marketplace Collections

About donedeal & marketplace collections
Do I need to be there when you collect?

No. The seller needs to be there to hand it over, and you need to be there, or someone you trust, when we deliver. If you're not at the collection, we'll send photos so you can see what we're picking up.

Who pays the seller?

You do, directly. Agree the price and payment with the seller before the collection so the handover is quick.

Is WeHaul connected to DoneDeal, Facebook or eBay?

No. WeHaul is an independent business. We collect items people have bought on those sites, but we're not affiliated with any of them.

Small Office Moves

About small office moves
Can you move us outside office hours?

Yes, and that's usually the best way. Evenings and weekends mean your team isn't working around boxes.

Do you disconnect and set up computers?

No. Your IT person should disconnect and pack the equipment, and set it up again at the new place. We'll move it carefully once it's packed.

Which areas do you do office moves in?

Cork and Limerick, including the towns around them. For anything bigger than about ten desks, a full removals firm is probably the better fit, and we'll tell you if so.

Man & Van by the Hour

About man & van by the hour
How much does a man with a van cost per hour?

Our current rates are on the prices page. Your total depends on how long the job takes, so being packed and ready when we arrive is the best way to keep it down.

Is there a minimum booking?

Yes. The minimum is on the prices page, because travel time to the first stop has to be covered.

Should I book by the hour or get a fixed price?

If you know exactly what's moving and where, a fixed price is usually better. If the job is open-ended, hourly is fairer to both of us.

Get a price

Where's it going?

Tell us what's moving and where, and we'll come back with a price. It takes about a minute.
